The Hatch Family Association will be holding the National Hatch Family Reunion in Scituate, Massachusetts, on Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25, 2010. New England is the starting place for several lines of the Hatch name, home to several immigrant ancestors. Scituate, Massachusetts, is the home of immigrant brothers Thomas and William Hatch. Nearby Barnstable, Massachusetts, is the home of immigrant Thomas Hatch, whose son Jonathan became one of the Founders of Falmouth, Massachusetts, also not too far away. York, Maine, is the home of immigrant brothers Philip and Charles Hatch. These four progenitors can be claimed by a large portion of Hatches living in both the United States and Canada.
The reunion is open to all who claim having a Hatch surname in their ancestry, HFA membership is not required and anyone with an interest in Hatch genealogy is welcome to attend. Come walk in the steps of your ancestors!
Grand Army of the Republic Hall (GAR Hall): 353 Country Way

Speaker 1: Ron Messer and possibly his daughter Sarah (Scituate Hatches)
Ron is owner of the Red Hatch House in Marshfield. His daughter Sarah wrote the book (book info), The Red House: Being a Mostly Accurate Account of New England’s Oldest Continuously Lived-In House, which chronicled both the family’s experiences renovating the house and a history of the Walter Hatch family which built and lived in the house from c. 1647 to 1965. Ron is hoping Sarah will be able to attend, as well, but at press time was still not able to confirm.
Speaker 2: (Barnstable Hatches) A discussion on the Chronology of Jonathan Hatch and other topics of interest to the Barnstable line
There will be time throughout the reunion for you to strike up conversations and share information with others researching your Hatch line and to discuss other genealogical topics of interest. Information about area genealogical research, for those able to stay for a day or two after the reunion, will also be provided.
